University of Huddersfield

The Brief:

The University required a fit for purpose and industry capable broadcast quality studio and gallery for their Media Centre. The requirement was to design and refit a state of the art Media & Journalism learning facility incorporating industry standard Audio/Visual, lighting, communication, control and camera technologies.

The Project

The project included new vision mixing desks, HD cameras, recorders, sound desks, graphics, new lighting design with full system integration and legacy systems connectivity and was worth in excess of £200k to significantly expand and improve the University’s facilities. RaceTech AV was involved from the conceptual design stage to successful handover of a fully working studio.
The new studio is a significant upgrade on existing facilities available to students and is fully HD and wide screen compatible.

The facility features Panasonic high definition wide screen compatible equipment and will form an integral part of the University’s wide range of degree programmes in Media and Journalism.

RaceTech AV has excellent working relationships with the key academia at the University of Huddersfield and were invited to the official opening of the new Studio by University Chancellor, Patrick Stewart.
